Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford accepted optional interest from Barcelona
According to the Spanish news agency EFE (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United ace Marcus Rashford is apparently welcoming interest from Barcelona for a potential move in the future transfer windows. It was amidst the increased competition in the forward line due to various available options and the new change in the system.
Barca have lined up the England international as an option to consider for the future as they are struggling with an injury crisis. The latter has apparently acknowledged that and has welcomed the possibility of a future move. However, he is not on the transfer list, plus, it is unlikely that the financially-stricken Spanish club could make an irrefutable bid to change that decision.
Rashford has not looked like his usual self since returning from a shoulder injury that plagued him throughout last season. He was played alongside Cristiano Ronaldo in the recent matches under Ralf Rangnick but the duo has not found a lot of success as of now.
Laughable
While the 24-year-old had average performances in recent games, it would be incredibly reactionary to put him on the transfer list. Even if there are players who can displace him from our starting line-up, when one delves more into it, a clearer picture indicates he has a future moving forward.
Jadon Sancho has been used as a number ten alongside Bruno Fernandes but it remains to be seen how our next manager, however that turns out to be, uses the two players. Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani are still valuable assets, although the latter has had injury troubles throughout this season. That leaves Mason Greenwood, who would provide a healthy competition to Rashford for starts.
Anthony Martial could leave in the January transfer window, whereas the future of Jesse Lingard has had doubts surrounding him. Youngster Anthony Elanga is still making his way into the first team, which makes Rashford an essential middle ground between the veterans and the youngsters.

The club would be unwise to purposefully weaken itself by keeping the fringe players and selling one of the competitors for the starting spot. The Red Devils striker is bound to rediscover his touch sooner rather than later as he gains match sharpness with more minutes in his tray.
It is highly recommended that the news is taken with a pinch of salt unless there is actual confirmation from the player or the two clubs.
