Transfer Update: Manchester United are keeping tabs on Arnaut Danjuma
According to Fichajes (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United have shown interest in signing Villarreal star Arnaut Danjuma.
The Dutchman is having a sensational debut season with the Europa League champions. He has already bagged nine goals and three assists in 18 appearances across all competitions. The 24-year-old forward gave an incredible performance against Manchester United in the Champions League group stage, grabbing himself an assist in the game.
Despite his best efforts, The Yellow Submarine are struggling in the Spanish yop division. Sitting in the 13th spot in La Liga, the Spanish side could lose their key forward in January. Along with Man United, Barcelona are also interested in signing the Dutch international.
In the summer, the Red Devils signed Jadon Sancho to bolster their attacking options on the flank. However, the English star is yet to pick up the form he showed during his time with Borussia Dortmund. With just one goal in 13 Premier League appearances, he has struggled to impose himself at Old Trafford.
36-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo has been clutch this season. The man worships his body like a temple and has managed to hold top-quality fitness for years. Nevertheless, the Portuguese superstar isn’t getting any younger and is not someone who can perform for us in the long run.
On the other hand, Marcus Rashford has suffered from a shoulder injury and missed several games at the start of the season. He has been relatively silent in the last few games and is in desperate need to rediscover his mojo.
It is not wise for Ralf Rangnick to be overreliant on Ronaldo. Therefore, the German manager will need another option upfront that can perform when called upon. Having already played in the Premier League with Bournemouth, the 24-year-old Danjuma makes for a perfect fit.

Danjuma can certainly fill that space. He has shown great physicality, which can give him an edge against English top-flight defenders. He is also at the right age to kick off his development and a move to Old Trafford could help him achieve just that.
