Manchester United are keen on signing Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara for free
According to The Athletic (Subscription Required), Manchester United are interested in signing Boubacar Kamara in the following summer transfer window when his contract expires with Marseille.
The French international has been a consistent performer for the Ligue 1 side. The local lad came through the ranks before establishing himself as a key first-team player. This season, the 22-year-old has also been entrusted with the skipper’s armband.
Overall the youngster has made 141 appearances for the Ligue 1 side, including 19 this season. Furthermore, the French U21 player also played a decisive role in recently holding Paris Saint Germain to a nil-nil draw.
His term with his local club has been quite successful. However, it has not convinced him enough to pen fresh terms on a deal that is set to expire next summer. Talks between the player and the club have reached a dead end, prompting interested parties to keep a keen eye on proceedings.
It is believed that the French player has already made his mind to leave the club as a free agent at the end of the season. The Marseille starlet has attracted serious attention from the Premier League. Newcastle United have kept track of the midfielder from the previous transfer window. At the same time, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona are also interested.
