Arsenal legend picks two players who will take Man United to greater heights

Ian Wright backs Jack Grealish and Jadon Sancho to help Manchester United scale greater heights

Speaking on Optus Sport’s The Kelly and Wrighty Show (h/t The Metro), Ian Wright believes Manchester United could go up a gear or two if they secure Jack Grealish and Jadon Sancho.

Both players were linked with United in the summer. However, neither player made his way to Old Trafford.

An excellent run of form has seen United make their way into the conversation for the Premier League. Bringing in the right reinforcements in January should aid our search for a first league title since 2013.

Manchester United have been backed to improve if they sign Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish

Grealish, who is enjoying an excellent season at Aston Villa, recently signed a new five-year deal. Wright believes United will struggle to land him in January.

He, however, believes Grealish will eventually move to the Theatre of Dreams in the future. Wright has backed the 25-year-old to do an unbelievable job at United.

“There’s no way that’s happening in January but you could see Jack Grealish doing an unbelievable job at Manchester United. It’s something that could happen in the future.”

Grealish has been in top form this season

Sancho meanwhile has failed to hit his regular standards at Borussia Dortmund. Despite his recent dip in form, the English youngster’s talent is unquestioned.

At 20, he has his best years ahead of him and has all the signs of becoming a world-class player. Wright believes United should go for the player if they can.

Despite his suggestions, Wright believes United’s priority should lie in signing defensive reinforcements.

The Red Devils have the worst defensive record in the Premier League top ten. Becoming tighter at the back would strengthen our claim of ending the seven-year wait for the Premier League title.
