Ole Gunnar Solskjaer provides update on the futures of Alexis Sanchez and Chris Smalling
As reported by the MEN, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided an update on the futures of Alexis Sanchez and Chris Smalling.
Both Sanchez and Smalling left the club last summer, joining Inter Milan and AS Roma on loan respectively.
Smalling, during his time in Rome, has enjoyed a brilliant campaign. The Englishman has grown into a key member of the Serie A outfit, helping them push for a top-four finish.
The 30-year-old has featured 22 times in the Italian top-flight, scoring two goals and setting up one more.
Sanchez, on the other hand, has failed to shine like his United teammate. The forward has once again struggled to make an impact, with injuries hampering him over the course of the campaign.
The Chilean has played just 11 league games for the Nerazzurri this term, managing just the solitary goal.
Both the players have extended their loan deals to complete the 2019/20 campaign at their respective clubs. And Solskjaer has claimed that a decision on their futures will be made only after the season is over. (h/t MEN)
“Chris certainly has had a very good season at Roma. Alexis has had some injury problems again. They are thinking about their futures and we are thinking about ours. We will make a decision after the end of this season.”
