Ole Gunnar Solskjaer angry with Manchester United board and refuses to step down despite sack calls
According to The Sun (h/t The Metro), Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is angry with the Manchester United board and has refused to step down despite calls to sack him.
There is a lot to ponder over in the red half of Manchester. What was expected to be a title challenge has turned into a fight for the Top 4 in a matter of two months. The marquee players signed by the club are yet to get going, with the exception of Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, the bigger cause of worry is that Solskjaer has not found a perfect setup yet. Three months into the season and the Norwegian is still changing his line-up and the formation.
Ole to stay at the Wheel?
Playing with three defenders at the back could be a way to keep more clean sheets, but United have conceded 4 goals in three games. Thus, there is no cohesion and a lack of a coherent plan. The defeats to Liverpool and Man City were supposed to be the final nails in his coffin.
However, the board are yet to sack him. It is now thought that Solskjaer is angry with the club because he feels that they are judging him only based on the start of the season. The 48-year-old has guided United to 3rd place, and 2nd place finishes in the league in the last two seasons.
Moreover, he has also led them to the Europa League final last season. But that is where the problem lies. He has not been able to get them over the finishing line, and it is costing the club major silverware.

Additionally, he has a squad good enough to compete on all fronts now. Thus, while he may be given until the end of the season to reverse the results, heavy defeats could force the board’s hand to sack him sooner.
Brendan Rodgers remains the frontrunner for the job if Solskjaer is to be sacked. The Norwegian believes he has not been enough credit, but unless the results change, there could be a new man at the helm soon.
