According to a report by Catalan outlet El Nacional (h/t The Hard Tackle), Manchester United are interested in signing Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde

In the past few seasons, the midfielder has become one of the most reliable and consistent performers for Real Madrid. The 23-year-old was being considered as the long-term substitute for Los Blanco’s ageing midfield. By committing a tackle from behind to stop Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata from scoring in the dying moments of Spanish Supercopa, he proved his commitment towards the team.

But it seems he hasn’t been entirely convinced by the sporting project and his current role in the Real Madrid squad. It seems the Columbian player’s ‘frustration’ with La Casa Blanca has become a centre of attraction for other European top teams.

Manchester United has been a long admirer of the midfielder. The Red Devils have seen some of their previous attempts being rejected, but they can find a loophole this time.

This time, Ed Woodward’s board are ready to pay €70 million for the midfielder. The overwhelming offer can play a big part in convincing the Madrid team.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s team are now on the verge of facing a massive dilemma with the midfield. French star Paul Pogba’s no plans to pen down a new contract indicates that he has the intentions to play somewhere else.

Another United midfielder, Donny van de Beek could soon choose the exit door due to his frustration about the lack of game time and confidence from the Norweigian manager.

In such a scenario, signing a midfielder could become a top priority for the Red Devils in the coming transfer window. Furthermore, this time they could have the advantage of luring a young prospect who can become a present solution and a future star for the team.
