It is believed that Manchester United have a ‘verbal agreement’ with Brendan Rodgers regarding the managerial role at the club
According to Caught Offside (h/t Express), Brendan Rodgers has verbally agreed to become the next manager of Manchester United.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been under tremendous pressure after failing to maintain the required consistency with the team. His side has been torn apart on occasions with humiliating losses to Leicester City, Liverpool, and Manchester City this season. The Norwegian manager is yet to win a major trophy with the club and the hierarchy could be running out of patience with him.
The former Molde FK manager has failed to deliver despite being heavily backed in the last transfer window. It saw players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, and Raphael Varane make the switch to Old Trafford. The Portuguese is the only one who has hit the ground running while the other two players are still trying to find their feet at Manchester United.
Rodgers has substantial experience in the Premier League as he has managed the Foxes as well as the Merseysiders in his tenure as a football manager. The former Celtic manager has created an exciting brand of football at the King Power stadium. He has helped teams develop into their full potential as his stint with Swansea City got him real recognition in the Premier League at the time.
Brendan also won the FA Cup with Leicester last season courtesy of an exquisite strike from Youri Tielemans. The current Red Devils team lacks the intensity and pressing in the opposition half. This makes it easier for the bigger clubs to pass the ball through their midfield and wreck havoc. The Irish manager has created an impressive resume over the years and could be the perfect person for the rebuild.

The Old Trafford outfit have gone without a trophy for 1637 days. The owners as well as the supporters would be getting more and more anxious by the day. Their recent form hasn’t done Ole any favours and the squad seems like a disjointed group of players at times. Any rumour around Brendan Rodgers is only speculatory at the moment but the hierarchy would be assessing their different managerial options after recent displays from the Red Devils.
