Jesse Lingard is supposedly open to a mid-season move to West ham United
According to Eurosport (h/t Express), Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard is tempted by the possibility of making a mid-season move to West Ham United.
The 28-year-old midfielder enjoyed a productive loan spell with the Hammers last season. He scored 9 goals and provided 5 assists in 16 matches across all competitions for the west London club last season. West Ham were interested in bringing Lingard back to the London Stadium but he choose to stay and fight for his place with the Red Devils.
Despite his attacking exploits with the West Londoners, last season, the Manchester United academy product has found it difficult to nail a starting position in the senior squad. He has played only 63 minutes in the Premier League this season during which time he has scored 2 goals for the Red Devils.
David Moyes’s men have started the season pretty well and are currently situated in 4th place on the PL table. They are also playing in the UEFA Europa League this season. The attraction of European football, as well as more quality game time, could be a tempting proposition for the England international.
Lingard’s current contract with Manchester United will expire at the end of the season. Newcastle United are also believed to be interested in the attacking midfielder. Jesse seems to have created a great rapport with Moyes in his time at the London stadium. West Ham have grown in strength over the last couple of seasons.
They have even managed to defeat the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, and Manchester United in different competitions this campaign. A resolute backline combined with a strong attack have made the Hammers feared competitors in the recent past.
