Manchester United star Marcus Rashford optimistic of featuring against Liverpool
According to The Daily Mail, Manchester United star Marcus Rashford remains optimistic about featuring against Liverpool in the crunch clash at Old Trafford this weekend.
Both the English giants go into the game on the back of impressive 3-2 wins in the UEFA Champions League. The Red Devils overturned a two-goal deficit at home to beat Atalanta and go top of their group.
It was however not all cheer as Fred went off on the night with a hamstring injury and Rashford went down with a dead leg. While the former is unlikely to feature, Rashford believes he still has a shot.
Speaking after the game, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tried to play coy regarding Rashford’s availability against the Reds. His comments did, however, indicate that am appearance is on the cards.
“If we treat him well he should be okay.”
Rashford only recently returned following shoulder surgery in the summer. He has since scored in both appearances against Leicester City and Atalanta. His absence would stifle the Red Devils attack against a Liverpool defence that could be there for the taking.
Rrashford always had an eye out for the game on the 24th. Playing against Liverpool is a special occasion for die-hard Red Devils faithful. As someone who came through the ranks, Rashford will be well aware of what the match means.
Whether he will eventually shake it off to feature remains to be seen.

Rashford has faced off against Liverpool on 11 occasions, scoring five goals and assisting one more. United have, however, won just two of the games, losing three along the way. Hopefully, we can do better this time.
