Transfer News: Manchester United are dreaming to have a midfield line of Paul Pogba and AC Milan ace Franck Kessie amidst transfer links
According to the latest transfer news on Il Milanista (h/t Sport Witness), Manchester United are ‘dreaming’ of partnering Paul Pogba with AC Milan star Franck Kessie amidst transfer links to Old Trafford.
The Ivorian has gone from strength to strength since making the move from Atalanta to AC Milan in 2017. A midfield engine for the Rossoneri, Kessie has so far made nearly 200 appearances for the Serie A club and was instrumental in helping them finish in the Top 4 last season after over half a decade.
However, the midfielder might now be ready to call it quits as he is nearing the end of his current contract at San Siro. Although a contract extension is on the cards, there are financial obstacles to it.
Kessie is said to be demanding a salary in the region of €8million, whereas the Italian club are only willing to cough up €6million. The player’s agent is now said to be in contact with several top clubs who would be willing to pay the aforementioned wages of his client.
Manchester United are one of the clubs that are interested in securing a deal for the 24-year-old talent. Nemanja Matic is said to be a transfer target for Barcelona, while his contract is also set to expire by the end of the 2022/23 season, courtesy of which reinforcements may be necessary.
Moreover, the Old Trafford outfit are said to be ‘dreaming’ of partnering their star midfielder Pogba with the Ivorian international. Given that both midfielders are highly talented, it could be a great fit.
