Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided a transfer update on Amad Diallo
Speaking to BBC reporter Simon Stone (h/t Fabrizio Romano), Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that a decision on Amad Diallo will be made by Christmas after failing a transfer in the summer.
The 19-year-old is a highly rated talent and was signed from Atalanta at the start of this year to boost the quality in the ranks at the club. Diallo immediately provided his contribution as he proved pivotal in some Europa League games for the Red Devils.
All in all, the winger 8 senior appearances under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer while he also featured with the U-23s. However, game-time was scarce due to the attacking talent in the team.
Not a lot changed in the summer as United added two more forwards to the frontline, although Daniel James did leave the club. However, minutes were always going to be hard to find, and it was decided that the Ivorian would leave on loan.
Although several clubs were keen on a move for the youngster, Feyenoord looked set to win the race to secure the player’s signature. While everything was in place, Diallo suffered an injury, and the loan move fell through.
The former Atalanta man has now returned from injury and has been put through the paces with the senior team as well. However, a decision on his future is yet to be made as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that it will be taken care of ‘before Christmas’.

Thus, depending on how much game-time the 19-year-old earns in the next three months, the club will be able to make an informed decision.
Given the talent and potential of the winger, some consistent minutes would do a world of good to him and also make him far more capable to compete for a starting spot at United. Thus, while a loan move might be the ideal situation, only time will tell what the Norwegian decides by the end of 2021.
