Cristiano Ronaldo has recommended Manchester United to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with Zinedine Zidane
According to El Chiringuito (h/t Yardbarker), Manchester United are claimed to be ready to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with Zinedine Zidane on the recommendation of Cristiano Ronaldo. This is following United’s recent defeat at the hands of Leicester City by 4-2.
The Red Devils had bought Ronaldo from Juventus for a fee of €15 million, plus €8m in bonuses in summer. Man Utd would want to return to the top level with the superstar at their side. However, all is not rosy at the club following his transfer.
The Portuguese is known for his hunger to win and the English club would be facing pressure due to recent results. As a result, it is said that the 36-year-old wants the club to replace Solskjaer with his former manager.
It is said that Zinedine Zidane could be signed by the Manchester club to keep their star player happy. Zidane and the five-time Champions League winner have had great success during their time at Real Madrid.
With Ole seemingly nearing the end of his tenure at Old Trafford, the French international could be a solid replacement. However, it may not guarantee instant success as his time in Spain can’t be taken at a face value.
Should the English club decide to sign him, the former Real manager will be facing a much tougher challenge. A squad with less quality, a declined Ronaldo and heavy competition from the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea are some of the hurdles he would have to face.
