Transfer News: Real Madrid are keen on a January pre-contract agreement with Manchester United star Paul Pogba

According to Cuatro (h/t Manchester Evening News), Real Madrid are ready to seal an agreement in January with Manchester United star Paul Pogba amidst a potential transfer next summer.

The French midfielder has been dazzling the theatre of dreams since he made his return back in 2016 for a club-record move worth £89million. In his first season, he sealed a Europa League triumph and the EFL Cup as well.

He has also been crucial to the Old Trafford outfit finishing runner up twice in the last four seasons. However, silverware has eluded Pogba & co, and the midfielder might now depart the club again.

The 28-year-old has a little over six months on his current contract with the Red Devils and could jump ship next summer as a free agent. If foreign clubs do want to ensure a move for the player next summer, they could meet a pre-contract agreement with him in January itself.

Real Madrid to seal a deal for Pogba in January?

Real Madrid are hoping to pull off exactly that as they want to get a deal done for the French international in January itself, according to Cuatro (h/t Manchester Evening News).

It is thought that the Spanish outfit want to complete a transfer as soon as possible. Unfortunately for United, there is very little they can do in this kind of situation.

The midfielder will stay with the 13-time Premier League champions for the rest of the season but maybe not beyond that if he cannot agree on a new deal.

Thus, to avoid such a situation, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and co will have to convince the Frenchman to put pen to paper on a new deal before the end of 2021 if they hope to retain his services beyond this season.
