Manchester United players and coaches question Jadon Sancho transfer amid slow start to the season
Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Duncan Castles of The Times and Daily Record (h/t Metro) claimed that Manchester United players and coaches are ‘unimpressed’ and worried about Jadon Sancho after his recent form.
The England international finally got his move to the Red Devils this summer as a £73million transfer fee was agreed. But since then, he has failed to impress when it has mattered in a United shirt.
Sancho is yet to score in the league and was unimpressive yet against as the Red Devils slumped to a horrendous 4-2 defeat at the hands of Leicester City. And according to Castles, Man United players are unimpressed with the former Borussia Dortmund star.
He has even gone on to claim that there are major question marks raised over Sancho’s signing amongst players and coaches alike, as they haven’t taken a liking to his attitude and contribution in training sessions.
Doubts over Sancho
Sancho played just 65 minutes in the defeat against the Foxes this weekend. He is yet to score, assist, or even complete the full 90 minutes for Man United in a single league game so far.
His form so far has been concerning, especially with regards to the fee United spent for him. One could argue that the club should have rather focused on getting in a central midfielder instead of Sancho, considering they already signed Amad Diallo in January.
But then again, the Englishman is still very young. 21 is no age for a player to reach his prime and Sancho should be afforded ample time to adjust to the Premier League, which according to Castles is something that Man United players are questioning at the moment.
