Erling Haaland could snub Real Madrid and join Manchester United next summer
According to Spanish newspaper Marca (h/t The Sun), Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland might prefer a move to Manchester United next summer over Real Madrid due to his high ambitions.
The Norwegian stayed in Germany this summer despite a lot of speculation over his future. In the last year and a half, the 21-year-old has caught the eye of several clubs due to his incredible goal tally of 68 goals in 67 games for Dortmund.
Thus, whichever club does end up landing the youngster will be in a for goal-fest. Real Madrid were believed to be interested in the centre-forward, but it does not look like the striker himself might prefer a move to the Spanish capital.
This is because Florentino Perez is also eyeing a deal for Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe, and this might take away from Haaland being the ‘main man’ at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Thus, his ambitions of being the ‘main man’ at the club might take a hit if he shares the platform with a player of a similar age profile and a similar position on the pitch. However, this is good news for Manchester United, who have previously shown interest in the 21-year-old.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer guided the youngster during their time at Molde, and United could eye a reunion again next summer. A strike-partnership including the Norwegian and Ronaldo might be a sight for sore eyes at Old Trafford.

However, Manchester City and PSG will provide a lot of competition to United for the youngster’s signature, with both clubs thought to be eyeing a forward next summer. Thus, while are things are yet to unravel, United could end up signing Haaland – a club where the centre-forward could go on to become the ‘main man’ for several years to come.
