Transfer News: Stoke City ace Emre Tezgel actively scouted by Manchester United

According to the latest transfer news on Daily Mail (h/t Stoke on Trent Live), Manchester United are keeping a close eye on the progress of Stoke City ace Emre Tezgel.

The 16-year-old is turning heads in the Potters’ academy and has impressed since a young age itself. The youngster recently made it into Year 11 at the Painsley Catholic College, but this has not stopped him from training with the first team under the stewardship of Michael O’Neil.

The starlet has already made appearances for the U-18 and might have also progressed further up the ranks in the U-23 side had it not been for school commitments. However, the young striker is already developing all the good qualities for a centre-forward.

His goal-scoring feats are just one of them, as he is displayed it by scoring 15 goals in 10 games since June, including a hat-trick against Liverpool. He has also featured for the England youth side in the Syrenka Cup and was also named player of the tournament– an award gobbled up by Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham two years ago.

Thus, the potential is certainly there to become a good player, and Manchester United are now keeping a close eye on the Englishman, according to Daily Mail (h/t Stoke on Trent Live). 

The Red Devils are always interested in the biggest talents in England and have formulated a strategy over recent years of making young additions to the squad. The current first-team setup already possess the likes of Mason Greenwood and Jadon Sancho, while Teden Mengi and Anthony Elanga could also receive senior appearances.

Thus, it is no surprise that United are interested in Tezgel. With Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani not getting any younger, investing in a young striker is a clever move. 

However, with Chelsea and Manchester City also scouting the 16-year-old, it remains to be seen whether Solskjaer and co can lure the Englishman to Old Trafford.
