Alex Telles of Manchester United believes new hairstyle can boost his Manchester United career

Speaking in an interview with the club’s official website (h/t Manchester Evening News), Alex Telles revealed why he has changed his hairstyle and underlined the goals he is setting for his Manchester United career.

The Brazilian defender was signed from FC Porto to give competition to Luke Shaw. Ever since he arrived at Old Trafford, Shaw’s form has picked up and he has become Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s number one left-back.

But the 28-year-old has impressed when he has got the chance and started for Man United against Villarreal in their UEFA Champions League group game last week.

Telles opened the scoring for the Red Devils and got their equalizer after a neatly-taken finish from a Bruno Fernandes free-kick. And he believes that a new hairstyle can now re-ignite his career at Old Trafford.

“It’s a new moment for me. I always had short hair like this. I actually let it grow the last two years. But I felt it was time to change again. A new chapter, new energy, because I am back after being out for two months due to an injury.”

Telles’ chances for challenging Shaw for a starting role took a setback after a serious injury this summer. But he is now back to full fitness and hopes to add to his tally of goals and assists after opening his tally for the Red Devils against the Yellow Submarines.

“It wasn’t an easy time, so I wanted to change my look for my return. Coming back with my new look and a goal was very important. I’m very happy. I scored my first and already my mind is on scoring the second, and getting plenty of assists, playing loads of games, and always giving it my all for United.”

He dropped to the bench against Everton as Shaw returned from his own injury as the Toffees managed to sneak out a draw. With a long season still ahead of the club, Telles would hope that he has a big role to play in United’s success this season.
