Didi Hamann claims it is only a matter of time before Manchester United sack head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Speaking to Sky Sports (h/t The Express), Liverpool legend Didi Hamann has criticized Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and believes he is not capable of utilizing the potential of the current Manchester United squad.
The Old Trafford outfit have suffered a tough three weeks. Although it felt like the club were cruising after signing the likes of Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho, and club legend Cristiano Ronaldo, things have not exactly panned out the way Solskjaer would have hoped for it to.
In the last three weeks, they have played six games and have only won registered two victories. They have lost to B.S.C Young Boys in the UEFA Champions League, West Ham in the FA Cup, and Aston Villa in the Premier League. The Red Devils also entered the international break on the back of a draw against Everton.
Liverpool legend Didi Hamann has now slammed Solskjaer for the club’s poor form and believes the Norwegian will be sacked soon. He told Sky Sports (h/t The Express):
“I believe the pressure on the manager will grow a lot. It is only a matter of time when – not if – they sack him because he has been there for too long, and you don’t see any progress. They still play the same football that is not good to watch. That is not Manchester United. I think there will be a change of manager soon.
“Their performance is pathetic at the moment. They just don’t play good football.”
“Whether the new manager will be able to utilise their entire potential, we will have to see. But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not capable of that right now.”

There was a lot of commotion regarding his team selection on the weekend as well after he dropped Ronaldo from the starting lineup. Although it might have been a strategy to provide the Portuguese a little rest, that plan certainly backfired.
The 48-year-old head coach is now set to undergo a testing period as the club are set to play the likes of Atalanta, Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, and Manchester City in the space of 21 days post the international break.
