Transfer News: Manchester United are monitoring Aberdeen ace Calvin Ramsay

According to transfer news SunSport, Manchester United are keeping an eye on Aberdeen starlet Calvin Ramsay and have done so regularly this season.

A product of the Aberdeen academy, Ramsay made the jump into the senior team last season and also featured in the play-offs for the Scottish side.

However, the youngster has been trusted with a starting role this season and has already made 14 appearances across all competitions as he has provided 6 assists in the process from right-back.

While that is the case, the Scottish Premiership side have suffered in the league this season as they are currently 7th in the table after having picked up 8 points from a possible 21. Regardless, Aberdeen boss Stephen Glass has continued to select the youngster in his starting lineups.

Manchester United are now scouting the youngster over a potential move. The Red Devils currently possess the likes of Luke Shaw, Alex Telles, Diogo Dalot, Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the full-back roles, with the latter duo performing their duties on the right-hand side.

The likes of Brandon Williams, Axel Tuanzebe, and Ethan Laird have secured loan moves this season, and it remains to be seen whether they have a future at Old Trafford. The Manchester-based club were said to be keen on bringing in Kieran Trippier to provide more depth in the full-back roles, but a deal failed to materialize.

Thus, targeting a player with a younger profile like Ramsay is not a bad alternative. Moreover, the 18-year-old has also already made his debut for the U-21 Scotland team, and if he continues a perform well, a senior call-up may be due.

However, if the Red Devils do plan on signing the youngster any time soon, it could be an uphill task as his current contract lasts until 2024 while Everton are also keen on the full-back.
