Manchester United board retain faith in under-fire Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
According to ESPN (h/t Mirror), Ole Gunnar Solskjaer retains the faith of the Manchester United board.
The Norwegian has come under fire after three losses in four games. United suffered a shock loss in their Champions League opener at Young Boys before being knocked out of the Carabao Cup by West Ham United at home.
Aston Villa handed the Red Devils their first loss in the Premier League last weekend. While the club is still just a point behind Liverpool at the Premier League summit, the performances leave much to be desired.
The arrival of Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo this summer has negated any excuse Solskjaer can have for not getting the results the club demands. As of yet, United have failed to properly click as a team apart for the odd moments.
Despite the difficulties, the United board believe Solskjaer is the man to take them forward. He was handed a three-year deal this summer and it would appear he is going nowhere yet.
Solskjaer is now in his third full season as Manchester United boss. Despite numerous semifinal appearances and a lone final, he is yet to win any silverware.
For all the good vibes and rather sweeping comments he makes to the media, there is always the fear that he is playing to the gallery rather than being able to make a difference on the pitch. Just how much more of it will be permitted to happen unless he wins any trophies remains to be seen.

Perhaps of all of our defeats recently, it is the one against Young Boys that showed the lack of imagination Solskjaer possesses. Despite being reduced to ten men, United had a lead to protect and better players across the board.
What followed was a defensive readjustment that killed any offensive drive for the remainder of the match. This handed our opponents the initiative who went on to win the game in stoppage time.
