Jadon Sancho needs more time at Manchester United to get going according to Bundesliga expert Kevin Hatchard
In conversation with TalkSPORT, football expert Kevin Hatchard spoke about the need to be more patient with new Manchester United recruit Jadon Sancho.
The 21-year-old had a massive impact with Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga. The youngster had many suitors across Europe but he made a £73 million move to Old Trafford this past summer, amid much expectations. However, the winger has had a slow start to his life in England.
The former Manchester City academy graduate has managed only 2 starts for the club. He has come of the bench a further 3 times but has failed to record a goal or assist for the Red Devils till now. The England international scored 38 goals and clocked 51 assists in 104 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund.
Kevin Hatchard stated his opinions on the youngster’s current situation at Man Utd.
“Is Jadon Sancho suddenly not a good player because he’s moved to the Premier League? No. He’s a guy that has incredible talent, has a great eye for a pass, has great composure in attacking situations, and I’ve seen him change games. “
Hatchard also spoke about the former Dortmund wingers need for more time at Old Trafford
“If the question is, ‘How long do you give him?’, I would suggest longer than the end of September.
Despite the great numbers and a huge fee, making the transition to England can be quite overwhelming due to the pace and intensity at which the game is played. Apart from that Sancho has to still familiarise himself with the dressing room and style of play at Old Trafford.
It was a productive transfer window for Manchester United as they signed some big names like Raphael Varane, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Sancho. The Reds Devils would be looking to bounce back after consecutive defeats to West Ham in the EFL Cup and Aston Villa in the Premier League.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would also be looking forward to seeing some semblance of the attacking threat that Sancho provided at Dortmund. The young winger is a long-term investment and can go on to be the future of the club if given a proper platform.
