Transfer News: Manchester United can move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele
According to Italian outlet Calciomercato (h/t The Express), Manchester United could be open to the possibility of making a potential move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele if Paul Pogba is to leave the club.
Pogba is now in the final year of his contract and a contract extension has not been signed yet by the 28-year-old. Juventus, Paris Saint Germain, and Real Madrid are eyeing a free transfer for the United academy graduate. While an exit may not be certain for the Frenchman, United are already plotting plans if their star does leave the club.
Pogba’s French compatriot Tanguy Ndombele is a prospect, who is being looked at by the Old Trafford outfit. The 24-year-old made the move to Tottenham Hotspur back in the summer of 2019 for £64million but things have not worked out just yet for the midfielder.
Although Ndombele has made 77 appearances in the last two years for the North London outfit, he has managed a mere 8 goals and 8 assists in the period and an exit was on the cards this summer.
However, a move failed to materialize for the 24-year-old, who made his first Premier League start on the weekend in the club’s 3-0 drubbing by London rivals Chelsea.
A new start may just be what is needed for the midfielder and Old Trafford could be the place where the Frenchman could reignite his career.

The Red Devils, will, however, be wary of the fact that Ndombele still has three years left on his contract and Spurs could be looking to ‘recoup’ a major sum of the money they shelled out for him.
Regardless, United could primarily focus on retaining Pogba’s services before they make a formalized offer for his replacement.
