The latest Team News as Manchester United look to get back to winning ways against West Ham United
According to the latest team news as per the club’s official site, Manchester United will prepare to take on West Ham United sans Edinson Cavani who is still injured.
The Red Devils ace missed United’s last two games and will be on the sidelines this weekend as well. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains hopeful that the 34-year-old will return to training ahead of the Carabao Cup clash against the same opposition midweek.
Another player who is out injured is Marcus Rashford. He is joined on the sidelines by young sensation Amad Diallo. Thankfully Solskjaer has enough strength in depth to all upon.
It is, however, not all doom and gloom on the injury front. First team duo Dean Henderson and Phil Jones are on their way back to full fitness. The duo featured for the club’s Under-23s at Arsenal last weekend.
Jones has not featured for the club since January 2020 and Henderson’s return will give David de Gea no reason to down his tools. While either appears unlikely to feature this weekend, their eventual return bodes well.
The Red Devils face the Hammers twice in a matter of four days. Rotation is the name of the game and Solskajer will have to do just that.
The Hammers will go into the game without Michail Antonio who got himself suspended after being sent off last week. David Moyes has an otherwise full-strength side to choose from.
The Hammers will have less time to recover following their Europa League clash against Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia. United will hopefully take advantage of their extended rest and squad depth to get the win on the night.
