Google enlist Manchester United star Marcus Rashford for ad that promotes inclusivity and curiosity

According to The Drum, Manchester United superstar, Marcus Rashford has teamed up with Google to push an ad campaign that celebrates curiosity.

This effort from the tech giants invites viewers to dig deeper into the world around them. It involves investigating what is visible to them, observing those around you and be inclusive of other cultures and beliefs.

In a world that is getting more and more polarized by the day, the ad focuses on how to look past our differences and accept and understand each other.

Rashford has been included in Google’s latest ad.

Rashford is a narrator in the ad and goes on at length to affirm the need for questions and curiosity. While it is okay not to know things, asking the right ones always leads us to the answers we seek.

“It’s ok not to know, to be curious, to be clueless. To wonder what that is, to wonder what to do. It’s okay to ask, after all, it’s not our questions that define us, it’s what we do with the answers because the more we learn, the closer we get.”

The latest spot is part of the well-received ‘Search on’ campaign. What significance this outreach will have on society as a whole remains to be seen.

Rashford has emerged as a hero for social justice in recent months.

Rashford made full use of his position as a well-known sportsman to combat child food poverty. He successfully took on the government, bringing relief to a large section of the vulnerable population.

His stock has since shot up and the English international has attracted a number of top sponsorships. This includes partnering with Nike to promote inclusivity and diversity in football while also challenging the advent of toxic masculinity in sports.

Google’s latest attempt appears to have taken a leaf out of the popular football sitcom Ted Lasso. Jason Sudeikis makes a heartwarming speech in it about the need to be curious and not judgemental. Given the world we live in today, it rings true. We are proud of Marcus Rashford who is not afraid to do the right thing.
