Manchester United remain hopeful of a deal for Kylian Mbappe in the winter transfer window
According to an interview done on El Chiringuito de Jugones (h/t Express), transfer expert, Eduardo Inda has explained how Manchester United could make a late swoop for Kylian Mbappe.
The 22-year-old who signed for PSG back in 2017 for a mammoth fee of £166million, could be available for a relatively lower fee in January. The youngster’s contract is set to expire next summer, courtesy of which Real Madrid were eyeing a deal for the Frenchman this summer.
An offer worth £189million was also made by the Spanish giants to sign the starry forward but PSG did not want to listen to any bids. However, given that it is an equal playing ground now, United are also looking to orchestrate a move for the player in January, according to transfer expert Eduardo Inda.
Although Mbappe has his eyes set on the Spanish capital, Inda explained that there will be two possibilities in the winter transfer window. He told El Chiringuito de Jugones (h/t The Express):
“On January 1, there are two possibilities. One is that Mbappe signs for the team that he pleases. Chelsea and United are squeezing him, but I think it has been agreed with Real Madrid.”
Inda also went on to explain how Mbappe is also open to leaving the French capital to join Madrid in the ‘winter transfer window’ for a fee lesser than €200million, as he would only have 6 months left on his contract.

Regardless, United, who have recently acquired Cristiano Ronaldo to their ranks, could make a compelling case to persuade another blockbuster forward to Old Trafford. With Edinson Cavani’s contract set to expire next summer and Ronaldo turning 37 next year, United could use Mbappe as the future option in the striker role.
While it will be an extremely hard case to convince the 22-year-old to do so, the Red Devils would be hoping to make a concerted effort to sign the Frenchman in January from under the noses of Florentino Perez.
