Manchester United ace Alvaro Fernandez is pleased with his promotion to the first-team
According to Tribal Football, Manchester United starlet Alvaro Fernandez is jubilant over his recent promotion to the first-team training session.
The 18-year-old joined up with the first team in a training session earlier this week on Tuesday, which was also the first day of club legend Cristiano Ronaldo’s first session with his new teammates.
The former Real Madrid man completed a sensational return back to the Old Trafford outfit on deadline day and trained for the first time on Tuesday, something that certainly pleased Fernandez.
The youngster also put up a picture on his official Instagram account with the caption “Special moments. Learning”. Like Ronaldo, Fernandez also has a past with Real Madrid.
The Spaniard was a part of Real Madrid’s youth team but left for the Red Devils last summer as he completed a free transfer in September 2020. Since then, Fernandez has been impressing the coaches at Old Trafford and has also started off his season well this year.
In his three Premier League 2 appearances the 18-year-old, he has scored 2 goals – an impressive stat especially since he is a left-back and not a part of the frontline.

Thus, his performances were not only noticed but also rewarded by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as he bumped him up to the first-team training. Although the Spaniard might not get a lot of game-time in the senior team, United’s options in the left-back role are skim with the likes of Luke Shaw and Alex Telles, with the latter also just returning from injury.
If one of the two players does suffer injury troubles, Fernandez could be used in that area, especially after the Red Devils loaned out the likes of Axel Tuanzebe, Ethan Laird, and Brandon Williams.
