24-year-old Man United ace hints at returning from injury sooner than expected

Scott McTominay could be back in Manchester United training sooner than expected

According to the official Instagram account of Scott McTominay (h/t Manchester Evening News), the Scot could be back playing for Manchester United sooner than most people expected he would.

McTominay featured in the club’s season opener against Leeds United, performed incredibly well as the Red Devils won the game 5-1. However, the Scot could only manage 14 minutes off the bench against Southampton.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had made it clear before the game against Southampton that 24-year-old was going through an injury issue. Things finally became crystal clear when the Scot was not in the squad for the Wolves game, and the club confirmed that the midfielder will undergo surgery.

Ahead of the game against Bruno Lage’s side, McTominay informed the fans that he had completed his surgery and he will be back soon. He said (h/t Manchester Evening News):

“Just to let you all know I’ve had minor surgery on an issue which has needed managing for the last couple of months. Wishing all the boys the best of luck and I will be back sooner than you think”.

While that was the case until last week, it looks like the 24-year-old could return to training very soon. In the Scotsman’s latest Instagram post (h/t Manchester Evening News), he uploaded a picture of celebrating a goal in the United jersey and titled it “Soon”.
