According to journalist Jonathan Shrager (h/t Daily Star), Amad Diallo could leave Manchester United on a loan deal in January after the 19-year-old saw a temporary exit fail this summer.

The former Atalanta winger was set on a loan move to Feyenoord this summer, but the deal failed to materialize after the youngster suffered a thigh injury in training, rendering him out of action for ‘six weeks.’ Manchester United confirmed the news of the player’s injury with a statement (h/t Daily Star), saying that:

“Manchester United can confirm that Amad has sustained a thigh muscle injury in training and is likely to be out for six weeks. Unfortunately, this happened just before his planned loan move to Feyenoord. Amad will remain at United and rehabilitate back to full fitness.”

The 19-year-old was touted for a loan move to several clubs this summer, including Crystal Palace and Sheffield United. However, a deal for Feyenoord was going to be completed, but the subsequent injury put that off.

However, journalist Jonathan Shrager later put out a tweet on his official Twitter handle (h/t Daily Star) saying that the Ivorian could leave on ‘loan in January.’

The Red Devils, who already possessed the likes of Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial, Edinson Cavani, and Jesse Lingard, added to their squad handsomely this summer by bringing in signings like Jadon Sancho and club legend Cristiano Ronaldo.

Diallo, who only made 8 appearances for the Red Devils last season, could fall further down the pecking order this year, and thus, a loan move would benefit all the parties concerned.

While there is no certainty on whether a loan deal will actually be orchestrated in January, the Ivorian would primarily be focusing on recovering from his thigh injury and gaining some match fitness.
