Amad Diallo is set to stay on at Manchester United this season as Feyenoord loan falls through
According to the reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Amad Diallo is now set to spend the upcoming season at Manchester United.
The 19-year-old enjoyed an excellent few months at Old Trafford following his move from Atalanta in January. An extremely promising attacker, the Ivory Coast prospect has the potential to become a star.
However with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho now at the Theatre of Dreams, Diallo’s chances of regular playtime for United is remote at best. That being said, the plan was to loan him out for the season.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed earlier in the week that Diallo was set to leave and the player was looking forward to an ‘exciting’ switch. The youngster was all set to travel to Eredivisie side Feyenoord Rotterdam for his medical only for the deal to fall through at the 11th hour.
Diallo suffered a muscle injury in training and it has now cost him a chance at regular playtime. The 19-year old now looks set to appear primarily for the Under-23s with the odd senior appearance thrown in.
The chances of the deal being reignited seem remote as far as this summer is concerned. Feyenoord have since changed course and are now actively pursuing Arsenal youngster Reiss Nelson. It is a rather unfortunate development for Diallo who could have developed very well in the Netherlands.
The likes of Crystal Palace and FC Basel were among those who were keen to take the youngster on loan. Whether any of them will now make a late punt to land the Ivorian wonderkid remains to be seen. (h/t Express)

Diallo for his part must now focus on resting and recuperating from his injury. While this summer may have ended in disappointment, there is no reason why he cannot move on loan next January.
