Transfer News: Amad Diallo close to leaving Manchester United for Feyenoord
According to transfer news from Fabrizio Romano (h/t 90min), Amad Diallo is close to joining Feyenoord on loan from Manchester United.
The Dutch side are interested in signing the Ivory Coast international, and it seems that they will land their man this summer. Diallo joined Man United from Atalanta this January.
After an impressive start for the reserve team, he was quickly handed his domestic and European debuts for the Red Devils last season. But it now seems like the current summer transfer window has kicked him down the pecking order.
The teenager had his no 19 jersey number taken by new signing Raphael Varane. Moreover, the club signed Jadon Sancho to start down the right-hand side along with club icon, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Dutch delight for Diallo
Amidst this, Diallo would find it very tough to find any game-time. It seemed likely that the former Atalanta man will leave the club this summer, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer all but confirmed his temporary exit recently.
“Yes, I do [expect him to go out on loan]. It’s not 100% signed but we’ve agreed. I don’t have to say which team it is yet, but we’ve found a place that Amad feels excited about and we feel excited about.”
It would be a good move for all parties if this deal goes through. Another young winger in Facundo Pellistri has already left the club on a loan spell this summer, and Diallo could follow suit.

He could then be able to get the playing time he needs in order to ensure that his development at the club isn’t stunted. But with 21-year-old Sancho now in the fray, Diallo might have to wait a while for his turn.
