Transfer News: Paul Pogba and Edinson Cavani not leaving Manchester United after Ronaldo comeback

According to transfer news from CaughtOffside, Paul Pogba and Edinson Cavani are not leaving Manchester United after the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo. Following Friday’s groundbreaking development, one could have assumed that one of those two stars were heading out but transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claimed that neither is leaving.

It’s hard not to rank this as one of the best transfer windows for Manchester United in recent history. After all, how many times have we seen United pull off signings like Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Ronaldo in one go and in a budget as well? Yet, it has happened but it opened up some questions regarding some of the stars already at the club.

Pogba’s future has continued to be a problem for a while as he winds down his deal. There was the question if Pogba would now be heading off to Juventus as a part of this Ronaldo deal. However, there have been no such talks and only one player is heading in one direction in this deal.

The bigger question was with Cavani. After all, Ronaldo plays in a similar position and both are high profile names. United worked hard to convince Cavani to stay for an extra year and that will be the case. He will not be leaving just because Ronaldo was signed and the club are also committed to keeping him.

Such a high profile deal to bring back Ronaldo was always going to raise questions but United need not worry. None of their core players are leaving for now and will likely feature in Solskjaer’s star-studded lineup for this season.
