Leeds United are interested in signing Manchester United forward Amad Diallo on a season-long loan deal.

Transfer News: Sheffield United want Amad Diallo on loan from Manchester United

According to a report by talkSPORT, Championship side Sheffield United are chasing a loan transfer for Manchester United starlet, Amad Diallo.

The Ivory Coast winger joined United in January 2021 for a £37million fee. He made his debut for United’s senior team in the Premier League as well as the UEFA Europa League last season.

The former Atalanta winger was lively on the pitch whenever he was sent on by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. But the arrival of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund could impact his game-time at the club.

Fellow academy winger Facundo Pellistri has already joined Alaves in Spain on a loan spell. And Amad could soon follow suit, with the Blades keen on a loan transfer.

He has already seen new sign Raphael Varane take his number 19 shirt at the club. It almost seems like this summer transfer window has paused Diallo’s rapid rise at Old Trafford, at least for the time being.

Sheffield United were, of course, relegated to the Championship last season. They certainly offer a better prospect in terms of playing time for Diallo but it wouldn’t be as good as Diallo getting those starts in the Premier League.

The level of football in both divisions vary to a large extent but the Ivorian can still get used to the physicality of English football if he does manage to secure a loan move to Bramall Lane.

Slavisa Jokanovic would certainly want to target promotion in his first season as Blades’ boss after Chris Wilder’s termination. And Diallo, in that respect, would certainly help the South Yorkshire-based club’s chances at returning to the top flight.
