Manchester United have received a response from Tottenham in regards to signing Harry Kane this summer

According to Tribal Football (h/t Express), Tottenham have told Manchester United that they want solely money for Harry Kane this summer.

While Manchester City are frontrunners in the race to sign the English international this summer, it has not stopped United from attempting to hijack this deal as they are keen on bolstering their attacking options.

The Red Devils have so far completed the signing of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund and the soon-to-be confirmed signing of Raphael Varane from Real Madrid, while they have also signed goalkeeper Tom Heaton from Aston Villa this summer.

Thus, United could complete an excellent window if they can sign Harry Kane as well. Indeed, the club are trying to execute a deal for the forward before the end of the transfer window, according to Tribal Football (h/t Express).

United were said to have put ‘feelers out there’ for a potential move for Kane this summer. However, Tottenham have responded by saying that they want at least £150million for Harry Kane this summer, and it does not look like United have the funds necessary to make an arrangement for the forward.

Moreover, Tottenham also do not want a swap deal and are eyeing solely money for Kane, ruling United almost out of the race to sign the forward.

The Red Devils will now turn their attention towards Luka Jovic instead. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to be a fan of the 23-year-old despite him failing to impress at Real Madrid in the last two years. (h/t Express)

With only over three weeks left until deadline day, Manchester United will have to move fast if they hope to sign a centre-forward.
