Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirms Manchester United summer transfer plans before end of summer transfer window
According to an interview done by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on ESPN (h/t Manchester Evening News), any more signings would be a ‘bonus’ for Manchester United as they approach the last three weeks of the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils have completed the £72.9million signing of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund while they are also waiting for Raphael Varane to undergo his medical before they finalise his £43million from Real Madrid.
While Sancho will be due to be back for training only next week following his holiday in the Turks and Caicos Island, Raphael Varane’s transfer was delayed as he had to obtain a visa.
Solskjaer is pleased with the signings of the duo, however, United’s search for a central midfielder and their continued interest in Atletico Madrid’s Kieran Trippier has not subsided in recent weeks. Talking to ESPN (h/t Manchester Evening News), Solskjaer explained how a lot could still take place at United.
“Anything from now is a bonus. I have to say that, with the two signings we’ve got, we’ve strengthened where we wanted to strengthen. Let’s see what happens. You never know in football. Anything can happen, ins and outs.
Solskjaer, however, reiterated that he is pleased with the business done by United till now.
“Transfer-wise, we’ve done our business early. Raphael hasn’t done his medical yet but that should be okay. I’m very pleased with what we’ve done.”
