Transfer News: Manchester United prepared to move for Leon Goretzka
According to transfer news from ESPN, Manchester United are prepared to move for Leon Goretzka. The 26-year-old Bayern Munich midfielder will be out of contract by next season and United are waiting to see if they can nab him.
Manchester United are far from done in this transfer window. Three signings have been made official. First, it was was Tom Heaton to arrive followed by long time United target Jadon Sancho. Then United managed to get themselves a deal for Raphael Varane, who has been another name United have wanted for a while.
Mark Odgen of ESPN was of the opinion that United are looking for further signings. Among the names was Leon Goretzka, who will be pursued if he fails to agree on a new deal at Bayern by next season.
“United are still pushing Atletico Madrid and England full-back Kieran Trippier and 18-year-old Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga. There is also an interest in Bayern Munich’s Leon Goretzka, with United prepare to move for the Germany midfielder if he fails to agree a new deal before it expires next summer.”
The powerhouse of a midfielder is one of the best in his position in the Bundesliga for Bayern Munich as well as for the German national side. Bayern are facing a similar situation to what United are facing with Pogba. Both players are in the last year of their deals.

If Pogba leaves, the Red Devils should try to push for Goretzka. He is reaching his prime years, which would help in replacing the Frenchman. It’s no easy task but Goretzka does come close with his all-action style of play. Nonetheless, this will be one to keep an eye out for over the season.
