According to transfer news from Express, Manchester United are set to announce the arrival of Raphael Varane next week. All the formalities like contract signing and medical will be done over the next week as the Frenchman will be unveiled as a United player.

It has taken a little over ten years but United have finally got their hands on Varane. A target since the days of Sir Alex Ferguson, Varane went on to become a star at Real Madrid over the last decade. United were in the hunt for a new defender and they managed to land themselves Varane.

United got their target at a cut-price, with a deal being agreed in principle as confirmed by both clubs. The deal will cost United £35m but with add-ons, it is expected that the figure will go north of £40m. Varane has agreed to a four-year deal with United, with the option of another year in 2025.

Now, further details have been revealed with the player set to arrive at United on Monday. Medicals and other formalities will be taken care of in the coming week as the club are planning to unveil the World Cup winner as a Red Devil by the end of next week. He will become United’s third signing of the season after Jadon Sancho and Tom Heaton.
