Transfer News: Manchester United yet to decide on the future of Ethan Laird
According to transfer news from MEN, Manchester United are still pondering over the future of Ethan Laird. The 19-year-old defender is currently recovering from an injury that he sustained towards the end of last season. However, the club are yet to decide on sending him out on loan.
The 19-year-old came through the ranks at United. He has made two first-team appearances for the Red Devils so far, both in the Europa League back in 2019. A highly-rated right-back, Laird also can double up as a centre-back. Injuries had limited his ability to impress for the club’s Under-23s in the first half of last season.
Over the winter transfer window, Laird made a loan move to MK Dons for the remainder of the season. He impressed there with his 4 assists in 24 games. However, right on the campaign’s final day, he suffered an injury that has kept him out for a while.
Currently, Laird is back at Carrington and recovering. He is likely to be up and running ahead of the start of this season. However, United are yet to come to a decision over Laird’s future. Sending him on loan is definitely an option but they could also try to keep him in the side. Any decision will likely depend on United signing another right-back.
