Transfer News: Danny Ings open to Manchester United move
According to transfer news from The Express, Danny Ings is open to a move to Manchester United. The Southampton striker is in the final year of his deal and wants to move to a bigger club. Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester City are also said to be interested in him.
The former Liverpool hitman has resurrected his career since joining Southampton in 2018. He has since emerged as the Saints’ primary striker, scoring 46 goals and making 10 assists in 100 games. Despite ending the season with 12 goals in the Premier League, Ings missed out on the England squad for the Euros.
Now, Ings is nearing the end of his contract at Southampton. The 28-year-old has just one year left on his current deal, meaning that Southampton will likely have to cash in on him. Ings has also rebuffed any approach of a new contract from the Saints, which has alerted suitors. (h/t The Express)
Among those admirers are Manchester United. FA registered intermediary Paul O’Keefe is of the opinion that Ings will be open to a move United or any of the top clubs should an offer be made. A lot of top Premier League sides such as City, Spurs and Chelsea are also keen on Ings. (h/t The Express)

It’s hard to see United throwing any weight behind a pursuit for Ings. Edinson Cavani’s deal has been extended, Anthony Martial is scheduled to return from his injury, and Mason Greenwood is being groomed for that role. Ings is definitely a handy striker to have but United don’t really need him right now.
