Transfer News: Manchester United concerned about Eduardo Camavinga snub
According to transfer news from The Telegraph (Subscription Required) [h/t The Metro], Manchester United have some concerns over Eduardo Camavinga. The French midfielder is said to prefer a move to Spain, which means Real Madrid and Barcelona come into play.
Camavinga became the youngest player ever to represent Rennes. He made his debut for the first-team in April 2019 against Angers and scored his first goal for the club against Lyon in December 2019. So far, Camavinga has made 82 appearances for Rennes, scoring twice and assisting five times in the process (h/t Transfermarkt).
A natural central midfielder, the 18-year-old can also be used deeper in a defensive role. He also made his bow for France last year but was unlucky to miss out on a spot for the Euros. The problem for Rennes is that his contract ends in a year and they either have to sell him now or lose him for free in 2022.
While Manchester United are said to have made an approach for Camavinga, as confirmed by his agent Jonathan Barnett, the player could prefer a move to La Liga. Chelsea are also interested in the teenager, which comes as a blow to United.
