Rennes unhappy with Manchester United bid for Eduardo Camavinga
According to Get French Football News (h/t The Mirror), Manchester United have been health a blow in their efforts to land French wonderkid Eduardo Camavinga.
The 18-year-old is one of the best young footballers in Europe at the moment. With just a year to go on his contract at Rennes, the Ligue 1 side have a decision to make this summer.
European giants Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are also in the fray for the youngster. United appear to have made direct contact with the player and have made progress in that regard. A long-term target, the young midfielder could be an option for us for the upcoming decade.
According to the report, Rennes are in no mood to accept a bargain-basement price of £25.7m for their star kid. The French side has laughed off suggestions that United could land their man for the aforementioned price.
This does not however close the door on our pursuit of the teenager. In fact, we will just have to be more generous with the transfer fee to land him. Rennes boss Bruno Genesio admits a decision must be reached regarding Camavinga sooner than later.
The Red Devils could potentially lose Paul Pogba this summer and also appear to be willing to part ways with Donny van de Beek. With Nemanja Matic not getting any younger and Fred having his limitations, bringing in Camavinga could prove to be more of a priority than a luxury.
Having missed out on Jude Bellingham last summer, United have identified Camavinga as a better alternative. The Red Devils believe Camavinga is a much better talent and should do all they can to land him this summer.

Camavinga was left out of France’s squad for Euro 2020. He is however expected to link up with the Under-23 side which will travel to the Tokyo Olympic Games later this month.
