Manchester United fans in awe of Fred as Brazil enter Copa America final

It is fair to say that Brazilian international Fred divides opinion amongst Manchester United fans.

The midfielder has formed a partnership with Scott McTominay in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s midfield and often starts as the double pivot for key matches. He has taken his performances up a notch this summer as a key member of Brazil’s Copa America squad.

He started all but one of the Selecao’s matches at the competition and has done a tidy job in the middle of the park. The fact that Fred is able to keep Liverpool midfielder Fabinho out of the starting line-up speaks volumes of his ability.

Brazil will face either Argentina or Colombia in the final later this month. The defending champions will look to make it two wins on the trot in the competition. Success in the competition will fare well for Fred going into the new season.

The Brazilian has often flattered to impress in a red shirt. This could very well be what he needs to turn his fortunes around at Old Trafford. He has made 121 appearances so far, scoring four goals and assisting seven more. (h/t Transfermarkt)

We now take a look at how fans reacted to his performances on Twitter.
