Manchester United and Dortmund £20m apart in Jadon Sancho valtuation
According to The Athletic (Subscription Required), Manchester United are still some way off from meeting Borussia Dortmund’s valuation for Jadon Sancho.
The Red Devils have been long-term admirers of the English international and came close to landing him last summer. United are confident of signing the player but will need to fork out the cash.
United are ready to offer Dortmund £80m but the Germans are holding out for an extra £20m in add-ons. Thankfully, there appears to be an openness to compromise, something that was absent last summer.
While United would have preferred to wrap up the deal before the Euros, that now seems unlikely. The winger is already with Gareth Southgate’s side ahead of their tournament opener against Croatia on 13th June.
A good tournament for Sancho could also boost his profile, giving Dortmund more leeway when it comes to negotiations. It could force us to increase our offer to eventually land him.
Sooner the better!
The 21-year-old is one of the best young players in the world and has enhanced his reputation at the Westfalenstadion. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to land him and has identified the player as his top priority this summer.
It was reported recently that while the Red Devils are keen, they also remain wary of being ripped off. That fears will only increase the longer this drags out.
With pre-season expected to begin in mid-
July, we will be best served to complete the deal as quickly as possible. After all, the sooner he is on board, the better.More Manchester United News
