Manchester United not ready to pay over the odds for Jadon Sancho
According to Daily Mail (h/t The Express), Manchester United are not ready to pay over the odds for Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho.
The 21-year-old is one of the best young players in the world and has enhanced his reputation at the Westfalenstadion. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to land him and has identified the player as his top priority this summer.
It was reported recently that a bid for Sancho was imminent. However, it is yet to be made despite Dortmund’s willingness to sell.
While the Red Devils are keen, they also remain wary of being ripped off. If anything, the previous campaign has shown that we lack the reinforcements needed to make a sustained effort to challenge at the top.
While we have gone big in the past, a lot of money has been expended on the wrong players. It appears to be clouding the club’s thoughts when it comes to landing Sancho.
It is a pretty curious stand for a club who have followed the player for more than a year. Given the saga that surrounded his pursuit last summer, one would assume the club would have done their due diligence.
Dortmund have made it clear that they are open to selling the player for around £80m. With the price known as well, why United feel they could be ripped off is a surprise.

Unless we take the initiative, it could once again prove to be a frustrating summer. Sancho has all the potential to be a world-beater and our hesitancy could see us miss out yet again on a generational talent.
