Transfer News: Manchester United to go after Harry Kane as Erling Haaland alternative
According to transfer news from Eurosport, Manchester United will turn their attention to Harry Kane, with Erling Haaland likely to stay back. The Borussia Dortmund forward is likely to remain at the club, which could see United go after Kane.
It looked as if Haaland was surely heading for the exit. But with Dortmund’s Champions League qualification ensured for next season, there is a chance that he might remain at Signal Iduna Park.
In a recent interview, the forward claimed that he has a contract at Dortmund and he will respect that.
While he hasn’t explicitly ruled out a move, it looks unlikely that he could move in this transfer window. With United looking for a striker, it has now been reported that the club will have to look in a different direction. That would mean going after their other transfer target Harry Kane.
The 27-year-old has performed splendidly for Spurs for a number of seasons and is amongst the best strikers in world football.
However, for all his talents, Kane is yet to win a single major honour in his career. With Spurs once again in limbo, he appears to have made up his mind to seek a new challenge elsewhere.
