Transfer News: Manchester United get boost in Cristiano Ronaldo pursuit

According to transfer news from Express, Manchester United have received a boost in their pursuit of Cristiano Ronaldo. Juventus recently sacked Andrea Pirlo and re-appointed Max Allegri and the latter is not said to be a fan of Ronaldo.

The Portuguese superstar is one of the best players in the history of the game. Despite turning 36, Ronaldo continues to impress and has scored 29 goals in 33 Serie A appearances for Juventus in an underwhelming season.

The Portuguese ace took to social media to admit he has achieved what he wanted at Juventus. A pretty curious statement considering he hasn’t gotten anywhere near the Champions League title with the Italians. It adds more ammo to talks that have linked him with a move away from Turin.

Pirlo was sacked and replaced by Allegri

Nonetheless, this week, Serie A got to witness a merry-go-round in terms of managerial changes. The interesting bit is that Andrea Pirlo was sacked after a dismal season and Max Allegri is back at the club after two years. While that would excite the fans, the same cannot be said of Ronaldo.

Max Allegri is back at Juventus.

Back in the 2018-19 season when Ronaldo had joined the club, Allegri had spoken to the club chairman Andrea Agnelli about selling the mercurial Portuguese.

“Get rid of Ronaldo, he’s blocking the growth of the team and the club.”

Now with Allegri back, things are bound to be a bit awkward and tense. It also may be buried given they are professionals but these things tend to stick around.

This is bound to come as good news for United, who could now make an official approach for their former superstar. United have been linked with big names for the summer and it does not get bigger than Cristiano Ronaldo. At 36, Ronaldo still remains active as one of the best players in the world.
