Leicester City keeping tabs on Manchester United ace Daniel James
According to the Manchester Gazette (h/t Mirror), Leicester City are keen on Manchester United winger Daniel James heading into the summer transfer window.
The 23-year-old joined United from Swansea City in 2019. While we have seen flashes of brilliance from him, it has failed to develop into something more consistent.
James made 46 appearances last season, playing 3005 minutes. He has experienced significantly less time this campaign, clocking a meagre 1426 minutes in 24 games. (h/t Transfermarkt)
With United being linked with the likes of Jadon Sancho, James could potentially play a largely peripheral role next campaign. While his journey at United may be coming to an end, he has no shortage of suitors who will be glad to take him on.
FA Cup winners Leicester City are the latest side to join the fray. Led by Brendan Rodgers, the Foxes have created a young, hungry squad that is exciting to watch. (h/t Mirror)
Rodgers also has a good track record in developing young attackers and James could benefit from just that. A pace merchant, James has so far failed to harness his greatest weapon into a potent threat.
United have in recent months been linked with a number of Leicester stars. The likes of Wesley Fofana and Caglar Soyuncu among others have been linked with a switch to Old Trafford.
Whether we can use James in part exchange for any of the aforementioned players remains to be seen.

To his credit, James has already bettered his goal tally from last season despite his limited opportunities. A decent set of performances saw him stake a claim for a starting spot in February and March.
Unfortunately an injury and cut short his season and he has not played for the club since April. He is expected to feature tonight against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Whether it will be the start of something new or his swansong in red remains to be seen.
