Five Manchester United players to leave the club this summer including Mark Helm

According to Manchester Evening News, five Manchester United players are set to leave the club this summer. Mark Helm, Max Taylor, Connor Stanley, Paul Woolston and Arnau Puigmal could all leave Old Trafford.

Helm has been fantastic for the U-23s and has even been dubbed as ‘the next Wayne Rooney’. He has developed a reputation as a free-kick specialist.

The report claims that there is interest in the player from the lower leagues.  He was part of the FA Youth Cup side that reached the semi-finals of the competition in 2020, playing alongside Teden Mengi, Hannibal Mejbri and Shola Shoretire.

The report also claims that the club will consider the futures of 19-year-olds Reece Devine and Charlie McCann.

Although Helm’s contract runs until 2022, Manchester United will try to reach an agreement with the player so that he can play regular football elsewhere.

Manchester United have seen youngsters step up in recent times. The likes of Teden Mengi, Shola Shoretire and Amad Diallo have all featured for the first-team. Hence, Helm’s stand is understandable considering the heavy competition for places.

A player so highly-rated, it does not bode well for us to lose him but given the circumstances, there doesn’t seem to be an option.

Manchester United have always had talented youngsters rise through the ranks and we have a history for it. However, there are also cases where we might have to lose some youngsters.
