Twitter reacts as Manchester United lose to Leicester City
In the end, the difference in quality shone through as Leicester City got one over a weakened Manchester United side at Old Trafford.
With games coming thick and fast, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was keen to rest his team and did just that. The Norwegian made 10 changes to the side that faced Villa at the weekend as only Mason Greenwood kept his place in the starting XI.
Anthony Elanga was given his United debut while Amad Diallo made his full debut for the club.
As expected, Leicester were largely the better team but United did have their moments. Luke Thomas pounced on a mistake from Axel Tuanzebe and Brandon Williams to give the Foxes the lead on the night.
Although Greenwood equalized soon after, Caglar Soynuncu’s second-half strike gave the Red Devils all three points.
The game all but ends any hopes of us usurping City for the title. It does however make Liverpool’s job of making the top four harder.
United next face the Merseysiders on 13th at Old Trafford. A win for us on the night will all but consign them to the Europa League at best. We take a look at how fans reacted to the news below.

Honestly couldn’t care less about 2nd it’s the same as 3rd would be nice but Europa is the main aim

Congrats to all those who stopped the Liverpool game the other week and forced a second string out tonight.

Congrats to Amad and Elanga on their PL debuts.

This result doesn’t affect our aims for the season and it means Liverpool probably won’t get top 4. Could be worse 🤭
Actually feel bad with the lost bcuz it’s at home and all our losses were all at home and we’ve really shown no passion tonight

Williams and tuanzebe were decent lets be fair. Agree the others had a bad game though.

What an annoying way of losing… I know we had to spare some players, but it’s still annoying… #GlazersOut

Don’t care if we play Thursday, should absolutely be ashamed handing city the title just like that. Disgusting

Ole can’t go complaining about fixture congestion and then bring on his 3 best players when he simply didn’t need too. We may have been losing but with top 4 guaranteed, should have let the kids have a run out tonight. He said he’d give youth a chance and it’s been very limited.

Big up Ole for this result. City were gona win the league anyways.. Leicester winning means Liverpool will find it hard to get into the top 4. No CL for them next season. GGMU! 😃😃😃
