Jadon Sancho open to England switch amidst Manchester United interest

According to the German publication Bild (h/t Mirror), Manchester United transfer target, Jadon Sancho is keen to return to England in the summer transfer window.

This is good news for United who have been following the player’s progress for some time now. The Red Devils were keen on the winger last summer but had to back out following Borussia Dortmund’s demands.

Interest in his services has however not waned and the player himself is keen to return home. The player already has a gentleman’s agreement with Dortmund to let him leave in the summer.

Jadon Sancho remains Manchester United's preferred choice
Sancho is amongst Europe’s top talents

He remains Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s top target this summer and the club is keen to land him. While Sancho’s numbers have somewhat dropped off this season, he showcased at the weekend against RB Leipzig that he remains a matchwinner on his day.

According to another report by Bild (h/t The Daily Mail), United are keen to wrap up a deal for Sancho ahead of the Euros and hope to land him for £77m.

Sancho’s ability is not in question and he continues to develop into a world-class player. A positive run in the Euros will only strengthen Dortmund’s hand and increase the player’s value. Potentially, signing him early will see us avoid an unnecessary and protracted saga.

Interestingly Jamie Carragher however believes signing Sancho will prove detrimental to Mason Greenwood’s development at the club. (h/t The Express)

He believes the youngster is not yet ready to take over as a regular striker and that his immediate future would be on the right flank. Signing Sancho would certainly be a major blow to him garnering regular game time.
